José Mourinho is heading home to the Bernabéu. The 63-year-old manager just left Benfica to take over at Real Madrid on a three-year deal, marking his return to the club where he spent three seasons between 2010 and 2013.

Real Madrid needed a reset badly. Last season was basically a disaster—Xabi Alonso got the sack in January after players started turning on each other, Álvaro Arbeloa stepped in as a band-aid solution, and nothing worked. The team crashed out of the Champions League to Bayern Munich in the quarters and watched Barcelona storm past them to claim La Liga.
