Harry Styles hasn't charged his laptop in six years. Rich people problems or genuine tech chaos?

Harry Styles dropped a bombshell in a recent Rolling Stone chat with Thom Yorke — his laptop's been completely dead for about six years. He just... doesn't know where the charger went. Cue the internet losing it.

The clip spread everywhere, naturally. People found it hilarious. Others? Not so much. One finance influencer called it "deeply unlikeable," arguing it screams privilege. And yeah, there's a point buried in there. Most of us need our devices to survive — work, bills, staying connected to the world. When you're a multimillionaire, opting out of the digital grind is a choice. For everyone else, it's a luxury they can't afford.

But here's the thing. There's a difference between a calculated tech-free flex and genuine overwhelm. Styles might actually be drowning in gadget confusion. Some people are just bad with tech, regardless of net worth. Christopher Nolan famously avoids email entirely. Ed Sheeran supposedly refuses to own a smartphone. These choices create chaos for their teams — someone's always Googling the hotel address, ordering the Uber, handling the stuff they've opted out of. It's not nothing.

So is Styles being sincere, or just performing the role of the clueless celebrity who's too rich to care? That's the real question. If he genuinely lost his charger and never bothered replacing it because he has people managing his life — that's one thing. If he's bragging about being untethered from tech while living a life most of us couldn't maintain without constant connectivity, that lands different.

The internet's already decided it's annoying. Fair enough. But it might also just be a guy who doesn't use a laptop, forgot where he put the charger, and hasn't thought about it since. Not everything needs to be a statement.
